Biology – Putting Our Knowledge Into Practice

This term, students from Sixth Form have been studying the brain, nervous system and sensory system in Biology and the students had been asking to see the structure of a brain and an eye. We ordered some sheep heads and were able to dissect them and observe the different structures of the brain. The students were surprised with how soft it was and amazed how it can be so folded and control the whole body. They were very interested to see how the structure of the eye is related to its function, and found it fascinating to look at the iris retina and lens up close. All good practice for future doctors, vets and surgeons!
