“Blood and Circulation” experiment by Year 10 students

Our Year 10 students at BSA & BSX conducted a laboratory experiment as part of their Biology curriculum, included in the unit focusing on “Blood and Circulation,” where they are studying the circulatory system (heart and blood vessels) and blood.

The experiment involved dissecting a pig’s heart and was conducted in groups of 5-6 students. Pig hearts were chosen due to their similarity to the human heart.

The purpose of this experiment was to examine the morphology of the heart and identify its various components: atria, ventricles, arteries, veins, and valves.
