This time, our gastronomic journey took us to the Far East, specifically to China.
Chinese cuisine is one of the richest and oldest in the world thanks to its ancient culinary tradition, and it has spread throughout the world due to its richness of flavours.
The basic component of Chinese cuisine is rice or wheat-based products (such as pasta or steamed buns), depending on the region, all of this accompanied by fish, vegetables, and/or meat. Its dishes focus mainly on the aroma, flavor, and colors of its characteristic sauces, such as oyster sauce, soy sauce, or sweet and sour sauce.
This month we were able to taste:
- Chinese salad with lettuce, carrot, ham, and sweetcorn dressed with white sweet and sour sauce
- Chinese fried rice
- Sweet and sour chicken
- Fried milk
