Year 7, Year 10 & Year 12 pupils take the CAT4 “Cognitive Ability Test”

Year 7, Year 10 and Year 12 pupils at British School Alzira-Xàtiva-Gandia take the CAT4, or Cognitive Ability Test, at the end of January.
These external tests are part of a wider assessment process which is carried out across several years.
The GL Assessment CAT 4 is the most widely used test of reasoning ability in the UK and Ireland. Standardised across 25,000 students with results verified each year, it allows us to accurately compare our students with the international benchmark.
A child’s verbal skills may be evident in the classroom, but that is only part of their ability. The CAT4 reveals hidden potential by assessing the other main types of reasoning ability that are known to make a difference to learning and performance, providing a complete profile of the pupil.
Specifically, it measures verbal, non-verbal, quantitative and spatial reasoning.
