Last week, our Year 1 pupils took part in a very special workshop titled “Call 112”, organised by the School Nursing Team and the Psychopedagogical Department.
The aim of this workshop was to teach our youngest learners how to act responsibly and quickly in the event of an emergency. It may come as a surprise, but numerous studies show that children under the age of 6 are perfectly capable of calling 112, explaining what’s happening, and following instructions while waiting for help to arrive.
Through engaging, hands-on activities tailored to their age, the pupils learned when and how to make an emergency call, what key information to share, and how to stay calm until professionals arrive.
At British School Alzira, Xàtiva & Gandia, we are committed to a holistic education that nurtures not only academic growth but also autonomy, safety, and a sense of responsibility—preparing our pupils to face real-life situations with confidence.
