Year 13 pupils carry out a titration in the lab

Our Year 13 students are studying a topic called “Redox Equilibria” in Chemistry. In chemistry, redox is the name given to the chemical equilibrium that occurs in a reduction-oxidation reaction.

The experiment they carried out is called “titration” and is a technique in which a solution of known concentration is used to determine the concentration of an unknown solution.

The students calculated the mass in milligrams of iron in an iron tablet by titrating with Fe2+ and MnO4- ions.
