On Friday 19th January, Franc Corbi, Managing Director of British School Alzira, Xàtiva & Gandia and vice-president of Acade, took part in the Esic University academic conference entitled “The Generation that unites us”.
He was in charge of opening a panel of experts in the education sector who shared their views on the new paradigm and challenges of management and teaching teams in a time of constant evolution.
During his talk, which was attended by the Rector of ESIC, Mr. Ramón Arilla, Franc Corbí shared his vision of the important role that education has for society and for the State, highlighting, among others, the importance of training competent and competitive professionals, working on the development and personal growth of students, and all of this, working with values that generate cohesion and promote coexistence. In this, he stressed, schools have a great responsibility to bring about educational change.
During his speech, he also spoke of the importance of not confusing equal opportunities with the equality that exists today in our education system, thus hindering the cultivation of talent and vocational and personalised teaching. Franc Corbi encouraged the teachers present at the event to motivate through respect and teaching from the mind of the learner, promoting active and experiential teaching for the student, the differentiated autonomy of schools, the regulatory flexibility of schools and the recovery of educational leadership that encourages staff, students and families. He also recalled the importance of modern and up-to-date facilities as a motivating factor for students.
