Sixth Form and University Access

From 16 to 18 years old

In the British National Curriculum, the Baccalaureate cycle is called “Sixth Form”, and covers the years of Year 12 and Year 13.

During this educational stage, students take the official A Levels exams, which will allow them to obtain the British Baccalaureate Certificate and the Spanish Baccalaureate Certificate, since we are an Official Examination Centre.

The full program in Sixth Form includes the study of AS/A2 subjects along with subjects from the Spanish Curriculum.

Generally:

  • AS exams are taken in Year 12
  • A2 exams are held in Year 13

AS + A2 = A LEVEL

This offers the possibility of accessing any University in Spain (Public or Private), the United Kingdom, the United States, Europe and the rest of the world.

In addition, at the British School Alzira, Xàtiva and Gandia we have agreements for our students to obtain scholarships in other countries (Denmark, Holland, United Kingdom…), as well as access agreements to the most prestigious private universities in the country, or to the ARA groups (High Academic Performance Groups at the Spanish Public University).

Students can choose from a wide variety of subjects from the British Curriculum, as well as from the Spanish Curriculum to prepare for PCE.

The subjects of the British Curriculum that can be studied in our Schools are:

  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • Maths
  • Computer science
  • Spanish
  • French
  • Italian
  • English
  • Geography
  • Business Studies
  • Psychology
  • Art

Whatever program students follow in Sixth Form, the quality of education will be high and appropriate to their needs.

The Sixth Form offered in our BSA-BSX-BSG centres is considered one of the best and most prestigious in Europe.

Our educational centres have a university orientation service for our students, working on this area throughout Secondary Education and Sixth Form Years.
