At the British School Alzira-Xàtiva-Gandia, we continue to take steps forward to provide our students with spaces that inspire, motivate and support their learning.
We have recently completed the refurbishment of the BSA laboratory, alongside the creation of a preparation room, transforming this environment.
The new space has been designed to enhance practical and safe learning. It features two central workstations, equipped with safety-protected electrical sockets and taps for flammable gases. In addition, three wash units with laboratory sinks and emergency eye wash stations have been installed, thereby reinforcing safety during every practical session.
In terms of storage, the laboratory has six large-capacity cupboards, a dedicated ventilated cupboard for acids and bases, and a fireproof cupboard for flammable products, allowing us to work with a wider variety of materials and undertake more complex experiments.
The facilities are complemented by ergonomic stools, specially designed seating for teachers, a dishwasher and a fridge-freezer, as well as an interactive touchscreen that facilitates a more dynamic, visual and participatory learning experience.
As an added bonus, once a week our students will have the support not only of their Science teacher but also of a specialist technician who will assist them in carrying out experiments, thereby enriching their practical experience.
But beyond the physical improvements, this new laboratory represents something far more important: a place where our students can experiment, ask questions, make mistakes and try again. A space where curiosity becomes learning and where every practical activity is an opportunity to discover the world around them.
