This April, the Nursing Department and the School’s Psychopedagogical Office gave Year 5 pupils a workshop on brain functions and emotions with the aim of explaining to the pupils how the brain is involved in emotional management and, therefore, preventing the impact that negative emotions can have on learning, conflict resolution and decision making.
The students learned that the brain is the organ in charge of processing emotions, which are the responses that our body emits in response to stimuli that have a direct impact on brain activity.
In the workshop on brain functions and emotions, aspects such as: What is health, how does the brain influence our thoughts, what are hormones, what are the hormones that produce happiness, sadness and stress, what is the relationship between mood and mental state, what is the relationship between mood and mental state, what is the relationship between mood and mental state, what is the relationship between mood and mental state, and what is the relationship between mood and mental state.
