British School Alzira hosts the NABSS 2025-2026 regional training: “Lock it in! Tailor Your Teaching to Make Learning Stick”

On 25 October 2025, the British School Alzira hosted the NABSS Regional Training 2025–2026, a teacher training day aimed at British schools throughout Spain.

The session, entitled ‘Lock it in! Tailor Your Teaching to Make Learning Stick,’ was led by Belinda Crowhurst, a renowned educational consultant and international trainer specialising in evidence-based teaching strategies and learning improvement. With a strong background in educational leadership in the United Kingdom, Belinda currently collaborates with schools and universities on teacher professional development and pedagogical innovation.

During the workshop, participating teachers explored practical strategies for achieving more effective and lasting learning. Among the topics covered were:

  • How memory works and how to debunk the main ‘neuromyths’ of learning.
  • Managing cognitive load to promote information retention and retrieval.
  • The use of effective modelling and retrieval practices to consolidate learning.
  • Designing clear, visual presentations that improve student comprehension.
  • Using artificial intelligence as a tool to create more dynamic materials and provide immediate feedback.

This inspiring session is part of the British School Alzira, Xàtiva & Gandia Group’s commitment to continuous teacher training, methodological innovation and the constant pursuit of educational excellence.
