Last thursday, our Year 10 students attended a “Relationships: emotional and sexual education” workshop at school, delivered by the Nursing Department in collaboration with the School’s Psychopedagogical Department.
The aim of the workshop was to inform students about this stage of human development, in which their bodies undergo reproductive maturation, often leading to questions, feelings, and new experiences.
During the session, various topics were covered, including: anatomy and physiology of the reproductive system, menstrual cycle and painful menstruation, sexuality and healthy relationships, pleasure and contraceptive methods and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs).
The Psychopedagogical Department believes it is essential to provide students with accurate and age-appropriate information during this period of change and exploration. Adolescents are particularly vulnerable to risks, making comprehensive and safe sexual education a crucial part of their learning journey.
