Our students explore at the Gredos Environmental Centre

Our IGCSE Geography (Year 11) and A-Level Biology (Year 12 and Year 13) students had the opportunity to visit the Gredos Centre, an environmental field study and outdoor activity centre, where they enjoyed a stay packed with activities amidst nature.

The Gredos Environmental Centre is located in Navarredonda de Gredos (Ávila) and is the only training centre in Spain that prepares students for IGCSE Geography and A-Level Biology coursework.

The aim of this trip was to allow students to work in small groups on Biology/Geography workshops in a natural setting, combining enjoyment with the practical application of theoretical knowledge as part of their coursework.

Year 11 Geography students waded straight into the river to investigate changes in its features and explored the stunning walled city of Ávila. Meanwhile, Year 12 and 13 Biology students explored local ecosystems, conducting detailed studies on biodiversity, ecosystem dynamics, and the roles of organisms within their habitats.
