UKMT Challenge (Intermediate Maths Challenge)

Our schools have been involved in the UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge for many years, and we are proud to say that it continues to encourage mathematical reasoning, accuracy of thought and fluency in the use of basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems.

The UK Mathematics Trust was founded in 1996 and aims to promote the education of young people in mathematics.

The problems set in the Intermediate Mathematical Challenge are designed to make students think. Most are accessible, but they still challenge those with more experience.

To recognise the best performers in the Challenge, the organisation awards participants with certificates of participation, and Bronze, Silver and Gold certificates for the best scores achieved, as well as a “Best of Year” award for the top performers in each Year Group in the BSA/BSX/BSG.
