This year, at British School Alzira, Xàtiva & Gandia, we take another step forward in our commitment to offering our students a healthy, varied, and enjoyable diet. We present a renewed dining service, with new gastronomic proposals and experiences that enrich the daily lives of our students.
You Choose Day:
One of the main innovations is the introduction of You Choose Day, a weekly event where Secondary and Sixth Form pupils can choose from a range of international menus, such as Greek gyros, Moroccan tagine, or Caribbean chicken. An experience designed to broaden gastronomic horizons and encourage active participation.
Bakery Corner:
The canteen will also feature a Bakery Corner, offering new varieties of traditional, locally sourced bread. These will be presented in wicker baskets with breadsticks, “regañás”, and grissini, adding variety, flavour, and a more complete dining experience.
New Products and Local Suppliers:
We are expanding our offer with new meat and fish products (such as pork tenderloin, mackerel, or locally sourced beef burgers), as well as seasonal fruit and vegetables. All of this comes from local suppliers in the Valencian Community, ensuring freshness, sustainability, and support for the surrounding agricultural environment.
Compliance with the New Decree on Processed Foods:
Our dining service now fully complies with the new decree on processed foods, ensuring that dishes are prepared in a more natural and balanced way, in line with the Mediterranean diet. This is an important step to guarantee the health and well-being of our students.
With these innovations, we reaffirm our commitment to a dining service that is healthier, educational, and participatory – one that not only nourishes, but also teaches and supports the development of healthy lifestyle habits.
