Our Year 1 students enjoyed a truly special day with their ‘First Flights’ Topic Day, an experience designed to bring them closer to the fascinating world of early air travel and exploration in a creative and experiential way.
Throughout the day, they participated in a wide variety of interdisciplinary activities that allowed them to learn while imagining they were real pilots, explorers and little aeronautical engineers. They also put their maths skills to the test by organising fun aeroplane races, and worked as a team to build a large class aeroplane, reinforcing cooperation and shared learning.
