Our monthly gastronomic journey continues to broaden our students’ palates, and this time, we explored the traditional flavours of the Murcia region.
Murcian cuisine is known for its seaside influence and dishes cooked in “caldero” (iron pots), with rice as a key ingredient. It also stands out for its abundance of fresh produce from local farms and traditional pork stews, recipes passed down through generations.
This time, we had the pleasure of tasting:
- 🥗 Murciana Salad, a regional favourite with tomato, tuna, boiled egg, black olives, and onion.
- 🍲 Rice “Caldero” of the Mar Menor, a traditional seafood rice dish with prawns and mussels.
- 🍖 Lean pork with potatoes, carrots, and peas.
- 🍎 Organic yoghurt and fresh fruit.
This experience was not only a delight for the taste buds but also a fantastic opportunity to continue exploring Spain’s rich cultural heritage through its cuisine. 🍽️✨
