Our Year 6 students are studying the book “The Kingdom of Kensuke” and they had a very exciting topic day to explore Japan this term.
During the Japanese-themed day, the students were able to enjoy the following activities among others related to Japan and its culture:
- Literacy: Writing Japanese characters.
- Language: Learning some basic phrases in Japanese.
- Art/Design and Technology: Creating Manga art.
- Cooking: Preparing and tasting some traditional Japanese dishes.
They were also able to come dressed up in any costume related to Japanese culture or as an anime character.
We hope they enjoyed the day!
